Could someone please explain to me what "grabbing" is. Someone has tried to explain this to me but I seem to be in "dull mode" at the moment and didn't fully understand the explanation.

Sorry to say some people are not very nice... this word is new to me but I think I might know what they are saying... some people don't like it when you play one of their layouts that they made and some one else get the full 10,000 points for it, because they think they should get the points firsts... I made layouts, too and I don't care who gets the points... we are here to have fun and enjoy the game... Once you share a layout it belongs to MTE and everyone who plays...I hope this helps, remember I'm guessing at this one...

I've re-read the explanation I was first given for "grabbing" and now reading your reply it sounds about right! I agree with you that when you create a layout it doesn't matter who gets the points, I just think it's great that I create something and that people all over the world play it.... that's all part of the fun of MTE.

That one time they called this bumping, I guess they got a new name for it...
Just ignore it when people bother you about this, don't write back to them...
I agree it's wonderful to play layout made from people from all over the world.. and the reason for the game is to have fun and enjoy...

The person concerned didn't actually write to me, I was looking for some new layouts to play and noticed my name in one or two and when I looked at them he had used my name in one title and my name in a subtitle and referred to me as an "idiot", but from what I gather from a lady who sent me a supportive message about this because she had seen the same thing, this guy isn't well thought of by some of the other players so I guess I'm in better company!!!!

Points can be fun and it's part of the game... a good-spirited player may want to experience the game-play and format of reaching high-point levels/badges etc, to see what happens etc, and that's cool but seeing how there is a great global recording and competition of play it shouldn'y jade a player. If someone is building boards for this reason alone they should fairly let ya know and everything would be fine, since there are so many boards, we will go where it's classic open format, no prob. Still have somewhat of a bad taste from them then whip them in time !! that's the spirit of it lol of course enjoying the play and boards in and of itself, fast time or not, is great as well ! You can play any of my boards anytime freshly made or old and I'd never freak hehe one love Chrs84-

There are alot of good people out there and don't care if you play their layouts...chr84 is one, you are welcome to play mine, also...You shouldn't have to worry about who layouts you play, if you see something you like, play it and don't worry about what people write and say... You paid for MTE and you have the right to play what ever layout you like...When I share a layout it's for someone to enjoy and have fun, that is what MTE is all about...Please don't let anyone get you down...
As you see chr84 is an example of the good people out there...

cool bab, totally appreciated, and angelwings13 sure is right, the creation of boards is a good representation of the Mahjong community of players, you could see the effort and different styles of expression in trying to present challenging and fun boards/puzzles, so there are many great players. When I started really looking around I must admit I was impressed with their love of the game. For me the final eternal love for playing Mahjong came during Mahjong Towers II that's when I went bonkers creating boards and playing endlessly, of course before then I played early versions, if I remember correctly it was basically concentration mode.
Ps thanks angelwings13 I'm glad to spread a little love and good spirit.
