Hi Judy,
Welcome to the forum. Congratulations for having beaten this layout. Great time. Well done. Another karma for that. How many attempts did it take you?

Took me 19 attempts but this one I managed to finish!! ;D My time was 31:25, good enough for #3 place right now, but think you all will best me for sure. Biggest tip I have is to check all the open tiles all the way down and take your time playing this one. Thanks Shan* for a wonderful layout and Gerda thanks for a great pick. Good luck to anyone who tries it. (Did we ever get some hints and tips for The Lost City?)

Great Puzzle. I have always enjoyed Shan*'s layouts and I had almost picked this one for a hardest layout on the other forum. Granny's hints were right on, took me 13 attempts but I landed in the #2 spot with a time of 23:14. Great pick again Gerda and kudos to Shan*

Well I finished but it took me FOREVER!!! It took me 38 attempts also. I usually do puzzles in speed mode, but after reading granny's tip to check all the open tiles, I realized that in speed mode it was not opening such tiles! So much of my attempts were in speed mode, which in my opinion will be much harder to accomplish a complete. After about 8 or 9 tries in classic mode, I finished with time of 51:19. I did alot of backtracking, but didn't have to shuffle until I had 76 tiles left!

That was fun!! Did it on my FIRST TRY, in 44:27, shuffling at 184 tiles left....yes, this layout would be much more difficult in speed mode, as there as soooo many hidden tiles to help you out of a jamb.....by taking tiles off the sides to match ones in the middle of the long rows is how I got it done, with just a tiny bit of backtracking, and some dedicated searching for hidden tiles when all looked lost. Great fun, with almost limitless ways down this layout if you pick your moves right; makes me want to explore other layouts by this player! Thanks for the challenge!
