I actually had no clue where to put these but I figured this was a good spot for them. I am sure most of you know I am pregnant with my first child. This is my first and my Husband's third. It hasn't exactly been an easy pregnancy but it will be well worth it in the end. Anyway on the 12th of February we went in for THE ultrasound. The one where you can find out if it's going to be pink or blue. Well, we are going to have a baby boy. It's blue all the way baby and a shock like you wouldn't believe. On my Dad's side of the family this will be the first baby boy in a little over 20 years. We on my Mom's side of the family this is going to be the first baby boy in a little over 60 years!!! So anyway, these are the ultrasound pictures of Kian Alexander. He should be here somewhere around Friday, June 13th. I know...kind of another coincidence...LOL. He's due on Friday the 13th...LOL.

how wonderful seeing your little one. Ultra-sounds are great.
Nothing wrong with the 13th. My hubby and I were born on the 13th and married on the 13th.
Congrats again on little Kian...

I am hoping for the 17th...LOL. Hubby's bday is the 17th of September, mine is the 17th of November and our wedding anniversary is the 17th of February. When they did the ultrasound we got to see Kian actually try to suck his thumb. That and watch as he had the hiccups...LOL. That was actually pretty funny. ;D

Okay...I just spent 10 days in the hospital because my gall bladder has pretty much crapped out on me and I am full of gall stones. Good news is the baby is doing fine. The bad news is that they can't do the surgery until he is born because of where I am in the pregnancy. SO...I am pretty much stuck at the moment. Basically about 2 weeks after I give birth I will be headed into surgery to have my gall bladder removed. And at this point even though preclampsia hasn't reared its ugly head they said if I don't end up with it and end up delivering early it will be surprising. The goal is to get me to 36 or 37 weeks. Right now I have just hit 27 weeks. SO...that is where I have been for the past 10 days is in the hospital and pretty much in hell. At first they were looking at doing the surgery but there was too much of a risk of me going into pre-term labor and delivering way too early so they kept me in and tried to at least get the stupid thing to settle down enough to manage it until the baby is born so we can just do the surgery a couple weeks after. The upside to doing it after he is born is that they can do it laproscopic instead of the old fashioned way with a HUGE incision with a long recovery time. So anyway, Kian is doing awesome and is right where he should be and then some since he liked to play with the baby monitors and ultrasound machines. It was actually kind of funny cause one night they couldn't get him on the monitor because he kept moving around and wouldn't sit still so they brought the ultrasound machine in to check him out and when they put the scope on my stomach he brought both feet up and kicked the damn thing...LMAO. Then proceeded to ball his fists up. The nurses said it was the first time they'd ever seen a baby do that...LOL. The other times he was on the monitors it just sounded like he was having a boxing match in there. What against I have no clue...LOL. SO here are the new ultrasound pictures that they took of him when I was in the hospital. These were taken on March 12th. Exactly one month after the last ones I posted.

So sorry to hear about your gall bladder problems. I agree you have to wait until the baby is born. You want to make sure he will be fine. You rest and take care of yourself.

He's growing like a weed and kicking up a storm. He absolutely hates the ultrasounds and the heart monitors and will do just about anything to keep them from working properly for the nurses. Case in point he kept kicking so much they couldn't get his heart tones so they had to bring in the ultrasound machine to check him out and he proceeded to bring both his feet back and try to boot that off my stomach...LOL. Funny thing was we got to see him do it and then see him start to ball his fists up. The nurses and ultrasound tech got a kick out of it because they'd never seen a baby do that before. Leave it to mine to be the temperamental little turkey. I am going to be glad when he's here and they can do the surgery and get that gall bladder out though. The pregnancy makes it even more painful because of the baby shifting all my internal organs up and squishing them. So I have all this added pressure on that gall bladder that is full of gall stones. If we would have caught this even 6 weeks ago they could have most likely done the surgery but at this point the uterus is too big and would have to be moved around to get to the gall bladder which could trigger premature labor. I just don't want to risk it because I have a feeling this may be the one and only baby I am able to have. So I am just kind of laying low and taking it easy and being careful. We are trying to get me through to full term but it is going to be touch and go to see if I make it that far with all the problems I have been having. I am just thankful that as far as they can tell by the ultrasounds and heart monitoring they have done that the baby is doing exceptionally well and is right where he should be and then some.

How are you doing? I am not so good at medical stuff in English. I understand you need a surgery, but it has to wait until the baby is born. Hope you will be alright having to wait for that. I pray for you and the baby.

I just spent another week in the hospital due to the gall bladder pain and it acting up. I have a long couple of m onths ahead of me. As far as the pregnancy and baby are concerned everything is fine...it is just my gall bladder that is bad and I have A LOT of gall stones in it which is making things really rough because of the pressure the baby puts on it because of how he is growing in this last trimester. The bad thing is I have a really high tolerane to psin snd even the strongest form of pain medication they have given me orally doesn't even touch it so I can't really get around or anything very well if at all. I am trying to just stay down and do what the doctors want but my Husband is so irate with the way they are handling this that it isn't even funny. That and he is just tired of watching me suffer. Anyway, I have been up all night once again and have actually just about planted my face right into the keyboard. I came home from the hospital with a sore throat and all that wonderful stuff so I am going to go make some hot cereal for breakfast and go to bed.

Little easier for me to just type one mass email to explain everything than try and write everyone back at once. Once I get back into the swing of things and am not so tired and sore I should be around a little more.
Anyway, as most know by now...I had Kian way early. It just couldn't be stopped. I had been having some severe issues with my gall bladder since early March and what we thought was just the pain and progression of the gall bladder getting worse and far more painful turned out to be something far more lethal. Finally I wound up in so much pain that I couldn't even stand let alone walk very far. So we decided since St. Vincent said they couldn't do anything else for me and that I just needed to "tough" it out and wait till Kian came that we needed to get a second opinion because if my gall bladder wasn't infected or inflamed than something else must be wrong to be causing the amount of pain I was in.
We took me into OHSU late Wednesday night/ early Thursday morning and they put me on the monitors and immediately noticed that not only was my blood pressure unusually high considering the medication I was taking for it but that Kian's heart rate was really mellow and just steady insteady of having the accellerations and a lot of movement like I had been having before. They even noticed a few decellerations which was serious cause for concern. They stopped giving me pain medication to see if that is what he was reacting too and after about a day of constant monitoring they finally decided they had to do the emergency c-section and take him out. My blood pressure was getting worse and his heart rate wasn't showing any improvement. They set the epidural and got everything ready to go and most of the last thing I remember is the epidural wearing off when they were making the incision. The rest is a huge blur. Evidentally I stopped breathing twice and they almost lost us both. My blood pressure had skyrocketed to a dangerously high rate and I am lucky I didn't stroke out. Next thing I know I was in recovery and they let me see Kian for all of maybe 2 minutes. I got to let him squeeze my finger and when they took him away he went "EHHH" and was just all squirming arms and legs and was just mad off.
He was born at 6:14pm on April 4th weighing 2lbs 14oz and measured 15 and a half inches long. He has tons of strawberry blonde hair and as far as we can tell since they have had his eyes covered, he has these bright bright bright blue eyes. He gives the nurses hell since he disconnects himself from some of the monmitors. He's really strong and is a fighter. And so far he seems to have my temper. Right now we can't hold him and sometimes we can't even touch him because if he is settled down we don't want to aggravate him because he tends to forget to breathe when he gets all mad off. Chances are he won't be able to come home for at least 4 to 6 weeks but they said plan on my due date as his homecoming which is June 13th.
So far he hasn't had to have been put on a ventilator. He is on a CPAP machine like what they use for sleep apnea and they bumped the pressure down a notch on it today. They inserted a PICC like what I had to have so they can draw blood without having to stick him over and over again (I had to have one because the other hospital blew every single vein in my arms). He is already taking about 3mL of breast milk and is tolerating it really well so far so they are looking at increasing that for him. Means more pumping for me...LOL. Other than that I am trying to take things easy and heal since I have a rather large incision from the c-section. They did mine the old fashioned way instead of the little bikini line ones. So I have a good 8 inch incision running vertically from just above my belly button and then on the inside they cut me horizontally to get him out. So I have a long time to heal. I still have the staples too which come out this next week. They say I am healing good though and moving around really well for just having had surgery. But overall I am really sore and pretty tired.
I will try to keep everyone updated as we find things out and as things progress. Take care and be well. *S*

God Bless you and Kian. I'm so glad that you both are doing good now. You get alot of rest so you can take care of your beautiful little boy Kian when he comes home.
Thank God for second opinions, it saved yours and Kian life. I do believe in always getting a second opinion when things are not showing improvement.
You and your son will be in my prayers.

A Wee Bit of Heaven
A wee bit of heaven
Drifted down from above
A handful of happiness
A heartful of love
A mystery of life
So sacred and so sweet
The giver of joy
So deep and complete.
Precious and priceless
So lovable too
The worls'd sweetest miracle
Baby, it's you.

Thank you for the well wishes and prayers. They are needed. He's strong and we are VERY lucky. If we'd waited even a day longer...if I hadn't insisted and made my Husband take me to the other hospital we probably wouldn't be here. He ask me if I remember asking why the baby wasn't crying and I don't even remember that and that was about the time that I had quit breathing too. But he's strong and he fights the nurses and gives them hell every step of the way. He's fighting with withdrawals because of the pain medication they had me on the past month for the gall bladder. We had fought the doctors on it but the doctors at this hospital said that Kian will be fine and it is very minor compared to what they see. As for me having more babies...I have been told absolutely NOT. There is too high of a chance that I will have the pre-eclampsia again and that it would be worse...and it nearly killed me this trip around. But I have a beautiful baby boy that is gonna give us a run for our money. He's already got my temper.

He's as ornery as ever. And growing like a weed. He's up to 3 pounds 3 ounces. And they are feeding him formula through a feeding tube but have him off the IV fluids they were giving him. He's no longer on the CPAP and is just on the oxygen canules and that is set at about a liter a day. So he is doing awesome.
These pictures were taken on April 16th
