Further to star rankings & the players file (found inside yr player folder) it takes approx (anywhere between) 11-14kbs to gain a star - mine is usually around the 12kb mark - others tho can be upto 15kb between each star - dont know why theres a difference but there is

Yay! I finally made it to RLP. Now I can return to my regularly scheduled life. Or maybe instead I'll just reach for the stars!! This game is too addicting...
Also, I've tried to back up my player file, as many people have suggested, following the instructions I have found on the boards. Neither my player file folder itself nor any of its contents have been modified according to their "date modified" date. The players file is also only 3k (I haven't checked if this is the size when I first started, but it seems small). Should the date modified date not change, or am I doing something wrong/looking in the wrong place? Any insight would be helpful.

Congrats on becoming RLP. Here is how to backup player folder. mahjongtowers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=askaway&action=display&thread=83It is recommended to Winzip the entire folder or copy to a save place. Size of the files it not the biggest concern. It is more for not having to start over after a PC or harddisk crash. The players file is in the folder player. If the file players is 3K it is indeed very small. It depends on what layouts you played to rank up. But even if you only played 10K speedies in Concentration Mode it still seems small to me. But if the game works fine, what would you worry about. It should have the date of today, if you have opened the game though. Backup player folder is something that has to be done on a regular base. If going for the stars, I would do it every time I played a session.

I have actually been opening the game through the "Big Fish Games" window, so maybe it never updates on my computer, only on their server. I hope I don't lose all of my progress if I open it through the MTE icon on my computer.

I hope I don't lose all of my progress if I open it through the MTE icon on my computer. Your player has to rank up simultaneous on BFG server and on your PC. Sometimes it doesn't. Server is sometimes slow or totally not accessible. BFG takes care of the files on their servers. It is not concern of us players. I might misunderstand, but I think you use the BFG download game manager to play game. I don't use that. I made a direct link to the exe file: "D:\BigFishGames\Mahjong Towers Eternity\Mahjong Towers Eternity.exe". I right-click on the game icon to go to the location. There I find my player folder. Right-click on it to WinZip it. Next I move the Zip file to a save place. You have an icon on desktop too. It links you to something like: pxggnbh.exe Same thing, but using the game manager at exit. You go there and find the player folder. Winzip or copy it to a save place outside the PC, like an external harddisk or send it to an email adress on internet like Yahoo. If PC or harddisk crashes, you can get it from there and continue playing.

Here is where you can see the RLP stars: www.mahjongtowerseternity.com/Just click the link above. It is save. It comes from Big Fish Games. Your rank number is 1643 at the moment. You have one star. You need as much points to get another star as it needed to become RLP from Lightning Pig.
