Hello I'm new to the pc world, and I enjoy this game. I'm reading about people losing their info and I'm wondering how do you save your game's progress. Is there a save button to click on somewhere? People say to copy your file somewhere safe, how do you do that? Thanks a bunch for your help.

Welcome to the forum Jim. This game is great, glad you enjoy it so much.
To answer your question. Go to "welcome" click that, in there look for MTE FAQ. In there it will tell you everything you need to know about back up and saving. Please let us know if you have more questions. Have a good day.

Thank you for the info. I'm new to computers, I understand it's a good idea to make frequent backups of your progress, but I'm not sure how you do that. Do you open up the player folder and send that somewhere or can you send your progress from the game itself. I just need to know step by step how to keep my progress so I don't lose it, I was a bronze snake and I lost that, and I'm afraid I may lose my progress again.

1. Right click at game icon at your desktop. 2. Click properties and then click find target. 3. Now you view at all game folders, 4. Select "player" folder. 5. Either have a blank rw disk and burn this folder, or/and ... drag copy/ paste this folder into another directory on your PC for example: c:\documents and settings\your name\My documents\ etc. I advise to copy the player folder to a floppy disk. Use a disk for every day of the week. You can't go wrong. 6. If you made or downloaded tile sets repeat the 5 points for "player tileset"folder The hightlighted folder in this example is where your important information is (With thanks to Pinky. Used parts of her previous answers to the same question.)

Hi Jim, Since you are new to computers, this link might be of interest to you and even to others not so new to Windows as well: www.optimizingpc.com/It is originally Dutch: www.schoonepc.nl/index.htmlPeople from The Netherlands are so nice to translate almost all their sites into English as well.

Again I got to the Gold Rabbit level & lost everything for the 3rd time! I've saved the player & player tilesets folders elsewhere, but when I move them back into the actual game directory, I still get the 'new user' login. So where do I go from here? I love this game (especially being able to download new tilesets), but this is getting really old, really fast! HELP!

Sounds to me that you are on Vista and installed the game just like that. Not as an administrator. To my knowledge, installed as administrator, things go the way as with WinXP, but if you just installed the game, things are a "little" different. Perhaps this topic will help you out: mahjongtowers.proboards56.com/index.cgi?board=askaway&action=display&thread=615Can you describe how come, you loose your player so often? Did not exit the game using the X in the top right corner, did you?

At first I could not down load tiles directly to off line game and so the tilesets did not show up. I have vista. I finally gave up all scores and re downloaded. For some reason that worked. | However, you problem sounds more like a software flaw or bug. Who did you buy from?, Do they have tech support?, Do you have Vista?

To Gerda,
Thanks for telling me about using the 'quit' button! I hadn't even noticed it it until you mentioned it. I'm now back to the gold rabbit level again, am too tired to continue, so hit the quit button, then went back into the game expecting my gold rabbit to have disappeared as it has the lastr 3 times I got to it, but it's still there.
Funny....X in the upper right hand corner closes everything (& saves it) in Windows....now I know better, & many thanks to you!

I have also had a problem with losing all info at the lightening Tiger level twice! I really like this game and would like tokeep playing but don't want to keep restarting. I asked Big Fish for an explanation and they offered me a credit towards another game. They said I must have a driver issue. Stumbled into here by chance. Hopefully this will help me figure it out. Thanks.

Please help. Ok I am with you there. vista is a whole new animal. Here is the maze in which I found players and was able to use player tiles 1. Go to Computer (C) 2. Go to 'Users' 3. go to your file (example: mine is Vivian 4. Go to 'App Data' 5.Go to' Local' 6.go to 'Virtual Store' 7. Go to 'Program Files" 8. Go to Mahjong .... Players and all other files are there. I do not know why they are not just in the regular Program file Mte but they are not. If anyone has an easier way I would appreciate it.

I have been having lots of problems launching Mahjong Towers Eternity of late, on a Mac. Half the time I get a blank black screen after the program visibly launches. So of course I tried replacing preferences and now have lost my badges. etc and I was up to Horse! Help. I do have backups but need to know where the info resides on OS X 10.5 so I can restore... ANyone else finding the program won't run half the time? I suspect Active-X, the same problem that has left Safari unsupported on various websites.

Am forever running around looking for this - will post it in here so i know where to find it next time - Saving player folder for new install of Mte or replacing a damaged eg:point loss player folder in yr game for all puter versions - XP Users - To copy a player folder in Mte - Right clik on your MTE game icon (the one you use to open & play the game) Click properties - clik find target (this opens a window with all your Mte game info) **Clik 1 time on the 'player' folder - etha copy & paste it to yr desktop or to an external drive (or disk) or you can use edit at the top of the window & use copy to - where ever your going to put it When you reinstall the game onto your new puter - open it as explained (ie: as per puter variation XP, Vista, Mac) - delete the 'player' folder in your new install & copy & paste your 'player' folder in its place - wen you open the game to play your player will be intact** VISTA Users - (Windows 7 is similar to this apparently ?) Click on Computer Icon (on your desktop) Click Owner AppData Local VirtualStore Program Files Look for Mahjong Towers Eternity folder & double clik it to open it You should now be looking at the Mte game files & folders then follow instructions as to Xp Users ** Mac Users To access the applications folder: go to the bar at the top of your screen, click "Go" a drop down menu will open, click on "go to folder" type "/Applications/" in the text box Look for Mahjong Towers Eternity & double clik to open it You should now be looking at the Mte game files & folders then follow instructions as to Xp Users ** Sing out if ya get stuk & need more help Hugz Fi
