You know you are when you get frustrated that your best time ever is 8.0 and you can't get that 7.9, so you attempt to download a doubleclicking mouse device off some sketchy website and it crashes your computer, wiping out the last 200 games you played since you logged on, and knocks you back behind several people you were ahead of, who probably retired from the game before you even started, because their wife threatened to divorce them or something. I could have gained much more just by shutting the damn machine off and calling it a night.
I play using a 5 year old traditional Compaq mouse, but one night I was drunk and bored and thought I could find some program that would let me double click on everything I single clicked on, so I could get like 4.9 seconds and freak out the best of you.
I've seen laser mice for over $100 US currency and wonder if they would give one an advantage. That would be insane though, wouldn't it? Like 5 times the price of the game itself just to look impressive to the other players.

I challenge myself to get those 8.0> times...it rarely happens but is reason for my own brief, but intense, celebration. I went so far (and this is why this post is relevent to this thread...) as to buy a $99.00(U.S) top of the line, cream of the crop, butt-kicken and name takin', faster than the speed of light lazer mouse, for the sole purpose of getting more 7.something second times on speedies...turns out it put a second or more on my average times so I took it back to the retailer with some lame excuse that it didn't properly install as per my expectations, or something like that ... I now still use my el cheapo, bargain basement, government issue WWII surplus $24.99 wireless digital hamster...oops, mouse...and am back to my usual occasional and brief but intense 7-second celebrations. I think the key is to have played more Pac-man and Space Invaders as a kid to increase the ol' hand-eye coordination.....

Ahhhh, this reminds me of the days when we used to play speedies over and over for the best times, before speedies became what they are in the game now. There's definitely a sense of satisfaction of getting a 8.0> time. Think one of my best times is 7.7 ... maybe 7.5 ... and that was with a standard, basic mouse with no bells and whistles. So ... you know that you're playing too much MTE when you play the same layout over and over just to hit the best times lists.

All I can say... don't play "small 'd'" unless you want to go psychotic... I tried it for HOURS and never could beat it.. about 50 tries.

When you buy the game again so you can have it on your work computer to sneak into the forum all day & also so you can make layouts and then break the speed barrier to get home before they've been played too much and are only worth 500 points. ;D Marilyn

you know you are addicted when desk top wizard cleans any unused icons from the desk top and all you are left with are mte folders. Or when you go shopping , buy some fruit and all you buy is pears (pairs) ( no oranges apples etc). Or when putting oven chips in you arrange them in patterns. ;D

You know you're playing way TOOOOOOO much mte when 72 hours has passed and you can hardly peel yourself out of you chair. When your legs and feet are numb and don't move when you try to walk. When your keyboard is a blur and your hands shake so bad you can't control your mouse and you can't answer a friends e-mail. When you favorite show has come and gone on the TV and you never got up to watch it. Then and only then do you realize you've done it. You've become addicted!!! Have a nice day. roe

You know you are way too addicted to the game when it is on your home computer and your work computer - you sign in to both forums when you get to work, open the game, minimize it and try and sneak in a game every now and then - at home, no one can come near the computer during your waking hours.
