I need one because I am fed up with all the hypocrisy and politics of some of the players of MTE. The first person who just asked me to play offline was Janine ok. Last night I caught her grabbing Pete*'s layouts. Some very rude people here too. Trudy*3 literally yelled at me to stop grabbing. I've since caught her grabbing. HYPOCRITES!!!!! And I know it's a very common practice to bump other launcher's layouts so you can be the first one to get the 10,000 points. And someone, you know who you are, is praising the "nice" players, the ones who play the game her way. The rules of the game are not yours, you know who. The only rules are those set by Big Fish Games. And now, someone who was told in a layout to "cool her jets" is friends with the person who told her that. Weird politics. And someone else, you know who you are, who was very snotty to me about grabbing isn't going after his/her friends who grab, or right now, any other people who grab. Thank you for allowing me to vent.

Because I just lost about 300 10,000 point layouts because there was a glitch in the game. An error came up out of nowhere and hitting ok or cancel wouldn't get it to go away. I had to use task manager to shut the game down, so I lost all the 10,000 point layouts and they are now worth whatever they are worth, which isn't anywhere near 10,000 points. !*&$! game!!!!!

That's bad. Did you play them already? Even worse. It is difficult to play game with other programs running in the background. A 42 tiles lo might seem as nothing, but 300 it much. Didn't I told somewhere to keep the favourites list as small as possible? And all data of game has to be transmitted from and to servers of BFG. I have have lost loads of points playing on line. If I play the biggies I go out of game after a Daily Double. For me it is warning I will get the error if I stay in for too long. But cheer up. Every day new speedies are made for you and me to play. There are made more than I can play. I have been calculating. It takes over 750 layouts included the max of Daily Doubles to get a star. That is if you get them all for 10K, which doesn't happen. It takes me quarter of an hour to play 50. So it takes me at least 3,5 hour to get a star. And for what? To have my name on a site somewhere. Who cares, my name is there or how many stars are after my name, except me. It takes me at least 92x3,5 hours to rank up from Newbie to 90 stars doing it the fast way. 322 hours. That is 13,5 x 24 hours. NO time to sleep or eat or whatever. Only playing speedies. And that is minimum time. To the most players it takes longer for getting the lo's for less points. Not to mention the lost players and hmm... errors to overcome. Can I have a double V&V please. At second thought: Make it a triple.

Thanks Gerda. It sure takes a lot to get a star. I'm only on my 22nd.
But you are right that there are new speedies to be played every day. That helps.
I will also have to start zipping the my file once I download a lot of speedies. That way if the game crashes I will still have the speedies at 10K points in the zipped my file. I won't lose anything.
It crashed again on me about 20 minutes ago. Grrrrr! I lost about 250 10K speedies. Lesson learned.
I'll take a double valium, single vodka please.

Sorry you are having so many problems with the game Scootiecat. I hope you have read about watching the size of your players file, and running the fix - could save your game. Also, I am sorry you have such an obvious dislike for me. I am well aware I don't make the rules for the game. I do like to see people have an equal opportunity for the big points, and waiting a bit before playing lo's tends to allow for that. I am 4 stars away from 90*s for the 11th time. Do you really think I care if somebody plays a lo before me? I do launch other peoples lo's for them, people who have version 1.3 and cannot launch, but want to contribute to the game. I an on-line only to launch, so have no idea who is grabbing what most of the time. Hope this clears some things up for you.

Why do I need to watch the size of my player file? Mine is 1.24 MB. Is that too big? What is running the fix?
Double valium, single vodka again, please.

Scootiecat, it is not your player file, but your players file. I do not know how to access this with Vista, but I am sure you can find it somewhere in the help section of the forum. When this file reaches over 500 kb, your game will at some point crash. You can wait for this to happen, and then run the fix, or once you are over 500 avoid it altogether and run the fix. There is also a section in the forum on the MTE fix, a link to it, and info on how to run it.

Thanks, Ann for the info about the players file and running the fix. I found my file and ran the fix, so hopefully I will be okay for awhile. Karma for you.
Triple Valium, single vodka, please.

Because Vista had an error and it made me lose the 10K point layouts I had downloaded.
And now because the game just crashed on me AGAIN! And my players file wasn't near 500K.

Its why I like to play off-line. No errors at all. But if I play on-line I go out after the Daily Double. That doesn't matter for playing biggies. But playing speedies, it is a waste of points.
I think it has more to do with shockwave. But I don't know how and why. Can also be another program running in background or checking for updates on its own causes problems. Do you have Roxio installed?
Why do you not go to BigFishGames to complain about the problem. Perhaps their technical staff has an answer.

I don't have Roxio installed. Should I?
I have gone to BFG 2 times this week and haven't gotten a response yet.

No you shouldn't. I have it installed and think it troubles my game if I play on line. Only a thought. Players get in trouble if the virus scanner is running in the background. It slows down the game. It looks like a lite game, but it takes up over half of all memory the PC has in. I think, if the games runs too slow, it brings up the errors.
I feel very sorry, you keep losing the big points over and over again.
And you have all of Adobe installed, shockwave and flashplayer? Run ccleaner once in a while?
I think, BFG doesn't know the answer either. Gerrit is on Vista and he is fine. But he plays speedies not so many. And if he does, he down one, plays it, goes to player, downs next etc.
Nobody worries if you do this tonight. (mine tonight). Board is slow. If you set it to 500 and go to page 2. You will notice, you can even play Mo*'s layouts for a nice bonus. They are launched about 12 hours ago.

I think I've lost about 10-12 million points with the 3 crashes. I just got my 24th star today. I should have been getting my 25th. I usually wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and I download Mo's layouts then. I get them from 8000-10,000 points. I also got Spazza's today for 7500-10,000 points. I have been on BFG's case about a new version that fixes the bugs and is compatible with Vista. Hopefully they will make a new version.

I just had another crash! Four in less than a week! I think I'm going to make sure my player file is up to date, then uninstall and reinstall the game.

Scootie how long do you keep your game open for at any one time?
Reason im asking is because of yr crashes
Mte uses alot of puter memory - so does doing other stuff in yr browser while the game is open - & as Gerda has said previously - too many los in yr favourites will also cause the game to crash
What sort of error msgs do you get when yr game does crash?
Also - have you noticed if yr game becomes slower & sluggish at downloading los the bigger the favourites gets?

Also - have you noticed if yr game becomes slower & sluggish at downloading los the bigger the favourites gets? Usually I leave my game open all day because I am downloading layouts then waiting to play them. I get a different error message each crash. The only one I remember is that it first said "Be sure you have the right version of the game", then it said "Four parameters missing." I'll have to start writing down the error messages. I haven't noticed the game becoming slower or more sluggish the more layouts I have. I think when I uninstall and reinstall, I'm going to go back to my version that I have on CD that I bought on eBay, instead of the version that I downloaded from BFG. I never had any crashes on the CD version and I had thousands of layouts in it, because I didn't know about deleting them after I played them.

OMG! You never go out game all day and wonder you get errors? I really need a triple V&V here. I know that four parameters error from trying to bump over 80 little layouts in a row. The favourits list goes blanc and the game goes down at its own. Have to wait a little before I can start the game again.
Did you leave game open all day with that Ebay version? If so it might help. But I am afraid it doesn't.
You really need to go out of game once in a while. With doing that the points go to the server. No wonder you lost so much.

I never had a problem with the CD version, and it's taken about 7 weeks for me to have trouble with the BFG version, so I'm hoping the uninstall/reinstall will do it.
