We had a heat wave of sorts...37F and rain, which of course froze immediately all over the roads.....now it is down to -8F, and I am trying to figure out how to replace the tires on my car with ice skates. Oh, yeah, we live just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska.

We're having unseasonably cold weather here in California, and it's been getting down to freezing temperatures at night. Our central furnace and A/C system is 22 years old and it finally decided to give up and die. So I've been bundled up in ski gear and long underwear at night. It'll take a while until the new system gets installed, so I'm hoping for a heat wave here! Rainluver, hope your plumbing gets fixed today, that's a real bummer!

We are warming up to a nice 28-30 degrees after a cold snapof 15 below with snow and combo sleet and thunder snow ( thunder and lightening during a blizzard) Felt like spring after all that cold.

We are just getting over the coldest January in 35 years up here...the temperature stayed colder then -30F for a couple weeks...the average temperature for the month was -21F, according to the National Liar (oops, weather) Service...the coldest night we had was -51F, although some of the outlying areas reported -58F for a few nights....simple things, such as staying warm, got to be kind of challenging there for a bit...

Brrrrrr, antz, brrrrrrrrrrr. We're having beautiful weather now, crisp and sunny with a nice breeze. We had a major storm the other night with winds up to 100mph. Pretty scary!!! The winds knocked over a 3 ton construction vehicle that was on the roof of a mall, and fallen trees closed one of our two major highways. Our winters used to be pretty tame, but lately it's been a pretty wild ride here.

100 mph winds??! Wow, that must have been exciting!! We rarely get windy days here, and I enjoy them when we do, but 100 mph? That's extreme!
By the way, where do you find those emoticons??

-43 degrees? Brrrrrrr!!! We're having sleet here today. Our deck is covered with it, pretty cool. Very unusual for California though!

We got snow last night. First time I've seen snow in 26 years of living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sure, we drive 3-4 hours to Lake Tahoe to ski ... plenty of snow there. But it simply doesn't snow where we live!!! Very cool.

Wow!! Snow in SF??! I hope it didn't stick to the roads there...it seems it would shut the city down with all those hills and grades.... By the way, if you want more, I'd be happy to send some more of this white crap your way...

lol! It didn't stick to the roads for long, just made things a little slippery. We're in the hills and it did stick to our deck all night though, which was very pretty! And thanks but I'll pass on the weather and snow that you're having up there antz! You can keep it.
