It can be done. Don't give up. But it sure is difficult. It took me 78 times to beat it.

It seems player *Gerda* has fallen off the server at BFG. For that it has no use to rank up. I do get the badges in game. It also shows on-line. But if I try to look up my rank number in the list, I am not on. BFG says my player was deleted from harddisk once. Might be, me running the fix on another player. I think it pretty weird I can look up the layouts but not my rank. Not that much to do with my inlog profile at my PC I think, but I stopped the discussion. Only solution was to start over. Wow, I could have thought that up myself. Great help.
Anyway I started over as -Gerda-

Why not me talking about my own layouts? You can come in and do so about your layouts as well. That's what forum is for. I think this is best "Fan Fun" layout I ever made. It is not only open on all sides, but even on the inside. As it comes to speed around for best time, I often come back to my self made tileset Pento5. (This in spite of the fact that I adore and admire the tilesests of others and play them as well). It took me quite some time to make the colors and forms the way, I hardly ever miss match. Especially if "colored tiles" are on. Even Gerrit plays with it all the time. He only used the ingame tileset Numbers, before I made this tileset and of course wanted him to try it out.

Gerda, I just played fan fun 67 and it was alot of fun. I did it in 1 attempts in speed 2.56..
I also really enjoyed the new style ones you are making, like faith, hope, love and butterflies...
I always enjoy playing all your layouts...

Cool. You get a karma for beating the layout.
That new style is not invented by me. I saw Mormargit's layout "Inside my computer" and wondered how she created it. I started to try out how to get this funny form. Soon found out. I don't know if she is the first with this way of building up layouts. I have seen layouts like this from others as well. Bassard made them many. If you like the style. Check this player's layouts and enjoy.

Really miss playing Gerda's layouts, but I understand about taking a break from making them... I had to take a break myself from making layouts...
Now and then Gerda will make some, I really do enjoy playing them when she does...

Gerda, what user name do you use for your speedies?

If I make them, that is not so often. I share them under my own name. But you cannot find them by "find a player", because I was 3th coming in community with that name. So you look them up by name. The series is called: easyspeed. Starting easyspeed 001. This first series is not much worth now. I have hold the zip file, as they where shared fresh and bumped. I do that with speedies of other players as well. Download a whole series of 10K layouts. Minimize the game. That is the - in the upper right. Turn off the Lan connection. So I am off line. At the bottom toolbar, click the game to maximize it. Go out game, stop, quit. (always use the buttons and never the X) Browse to my player folder. Winzip the my file to "my 10k peete* 20090818.zip" (or something like that) Unzip my 1 layout file. Turn on the Lan connection. Find another player to do this job again. If I want to play speedies. I turn off lan connection. Unzip a my 10k file of a few days ago and play them all fo max points. (I don't not play them right away. So others also can download them for 10K.) Minimize the game as said above. Turn on the Lan connection. Click the game at the bottom toolbar. Go out of game the proper way and with that collect my points. If everyone does it this way, all players can have them for maximum points. I uploaded the my10K zip file to my Esnips account: www.esnips.com/doc/3267cbe0-e890-44b0-9902-90779b6e6939/My-Gerda-10K-20090818Enjoy Edit: It is RAR file. I use WinRAR. You can handle it the same as a ZIP file.

Gerda, gotta hand it to you. Even most of your speedies are hard. You are really good at making layouts! LOL I shared a few more packages with 42 tiles 10K layouts on Esnips. www.esnips.com/web/GerdaMTEspeedies/Hope they are not too hard. After all it is a puzzle game.

Gerda, please don't take offense at this. But I am finding your speedies to be a little too difficult. I average about 18 seconds on others' layouts. Yours are taking me about 40 or even more seconds to do. They are great layouts, but you might want to try making them a little bit easier. Isn't that the point of speedies? To get them done as quickly as possible? I don't consider 40+ seconds to be very fast when I can do others in 12-20 seconds. Again, no offense.

No worry about me being offended. You are entitled to have an opinion. Forum is to share this opinion. As far as I am aware, there are no rules set about speedies. It are little layouts bumped up to max bonus points. Not worth that amount of bonus at all. Most in the series I create are easy. Indeed it includes some puzzlers. I like it myself to play them in between. Series of all the same layouts are boring in my opinion. I only play them down for the points. I better go working in a factory. Doing the same action all day long. Boring too, but I will get payed for it. With MTE the only things I get are stars lol. Not worth anything. Only my player name on a website. What are we doing here? Mahjong is a puzzle game. That is why you got the game in the first place. OK it takes a little longer to get a little layout like a Pentomini down. So what? You are puzzling a game down for big points. And sure tries do it faster than the other players. That's what I do. And sometimes even play a game for zero bonus, if I dislike my time. Anyway, If you do not like the layouts I create, you just do not play them. I do not order you to do them. It is your game. Play it the way you want to. I updated my Esnips account with 10K speedies (and puzzler speedies). Enjoy. www.esnips.com/web/GerdaMTEspeedies/

I get tired of playing the same layouts, too. Especially from those players who put the same layout in about 10 times in a row. That gets really annoying.
But I am trying to rack up as many points as I can in as little time as possible. And I get frustrated when a so-called speedy jumps all over and it's hard to find a match for the tiles.
You don't have to make them hard for them to be new and original.
